Recruit goblins, zombies, and yetis for your monster farm! Open packs, assign workers, clear tiles to expand, discover powerful altars, and climb the talent tree. Casual incremental management!

Working Class Monsters is a casual incremental game where explore and build as much wealth as possible. Buy packs, expand your randomly generated lands & place monsters to gain rich bonuses.

This is a short demo of the first game build. The Steam page is currently waiting approval. Full development of the 1.0 version is underway. But any feedback, suggestions or issues discovered should be shared in the comments.

Looking good! Seems it needs a little gloss here and there*. Not sure what to do with the produced goods...but maybe I'm still discovering. Looking forward to see more!

I'll take a look. But it places elk, cactus, bluecap mushrooms & fish in adjacent tiles (if the adjacent tile is the correct type)
my only problem with the game is that it doesn't save, and sometimes bugs happen that require you to reload the page, losing all progress
fun game otherwise!

I've tried the new update! Storage is a great addition! I think the altars are too common, I got like 8 altars next to each other. One huge upgrade would be a monster or an altar that collects gold automatically. Maybe a monster with a radius of collecting? What are the same type monsters do with each other when they are happy for each other? Is there a game mechanic behind it or it's just a little fun feature?

There's bonuses behind creature types being adjacent yeah, it's just not well illustrated in game! But it results in +work speed / quantity of items produced

Very fun! Didnt realize I could click on mountains to buy them. Also if you buy a unit and dont want to place it, is the idea that you have to? The pack is a random chance to see the options but I didnt see a way to reroll (buy new pack w/o choosing a unit). Hit a bug after 3 of choosing a unit, not placing it, and then trying to buy a third but the UI was open and I couldnt click it... I could buy more tiles by clicking on the mountains however.
Currently yeah, you need to place the monster. But I'm posting an update in the next couple of days that will allow you to discard the pack for a partial refund. Thanks for that bug report, I'll check it out! I appreciate you checking out the game :)
Great game! I'm really curious about the continuation! I also agree with other people on having a mechanic to store the monsters. Also I was thinking about the gold process and I think it would be cool if the monsters themselves would turn into full gold, and you can pick up the gold when they are gold - so the pop up will not bother the view of other tiles above.

Activating buildings that increase efficiency of monsters production (ex, golden teapot) does not seem to use up any gold

Make a way to store a monster, and then place them elsewhere. Easiest way to allow both moving and "removal". (and let us sell from monster storage)
Right clicking on the world monsters, moves to storage, and then clicking on them in storage, lets us place them on the map, same as when bought. Right click in storage, sells one.
The collection book can double as monster storage?
I love this idea. I'm toying with having a hand of cards that you can mov and the monsters back to when you want to store them. Then perhaps some bonus/synergy effects when monsters are in your hand Vs on the grid.

Nice game, loved to play it, great progression. But i would love if the game dont pause when i change tab or unfocus the screen, i would like to let the game farming while i do other stuff on my pc like work. but congrats!

Love it, only suggestion is a monster removal button, sometimes packs have a monster that cant go anywhere and does nothing forever. or a button to skip selecting a monster from a pack.
Cheers for playing. I agree it feels shit to pack a monster you don't want. I'm playing about with a 'partial refund' button for the next build.
Played the game again. The game lacks a goal. Its just expand your territory and place more monsters and collect more gold. There is no threat, no goal, no quest, no story, nothing. This removes the motivation to play the game for more than 10 minutes (at least for me!).

Lovely game! I love the art, animations, and sounds. One suggestion: please make it easier to click on squares that are above the hired creatures. Currently it can be very hard to expand because the gold buttons block the ability to click on a mountain tile.

The game looks nice, but the moment i click on the gold icon above the creature to get it, the game crashes. dunno if its my problem or a game bug.
